Course level and learning content

  • Anfæger I/II

    DAY & TIME:

    Sunday: 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM


    SUITABLE FOR:

    This course is for participants with no or little prior knowledge, as well as for participants who want to refresh or master old basic knowledge.


    LEARNING CONTENT:

    Posture; Leading & Following; Basic steps: Basic 1 2 3, Virgula; Retrocesso, Estrella, Corridinho, Ida e Volta, Tarraxinha; Ladies' Saida and Men's Saida, simple step combinations and much more.

  • Intermediate Level I/II

    DAY & TIME:

    Sunday: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM


    MIDDLE LEVEL I - SUITABLE FOR:

    For participants of our beginner courses or those switching from other disciplines who can confidently dance the learning content of our beginner course.


    MIDDLE LEVEL I - LEARNING CONTENT:

    Footwork stability is improved; technique training, the art of walking (walking technique) and body expression are practiced, further figures and various combinations as well as Saida variations are learned; changes of pace; redirections, first simple dips, Tarraxhina movement is practiced further and much more.



    INTERMEDIATE LEVEL II - SUITABLE FOR:

    for participants who have completed Intermediate Level I or for career changers with great sure-footedness and great confidence in leading & following and at least 1.5 years of dance experience.


    MIDDLE LEVEL II - LEARNING CONTENT:

    Footwork stability is improved, technique training, the art of running (running technique) and body expression are practiced, further figures and various combinations as well as Saida variations are learned; changes of pace; redirections, first simple dips, Tarraxhina movement is practiced further and much more.

  • Advanced

    DAY & TIME:

    Sunday: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM


    SUITABLE FOR:

    Participants in our Intermediate Level II course, or dancers with very experienced footwork and confident leading and following, and at least 2 years of dance experience.



    LEARNING CONTENT:

    Advanced figures and combination possibilities at an advanced level; special attention is paid to dance attitude and musical interpretation, footwork, and technique training.

    Each course month comprises four teaching units of 60 minutes each.


    Entry into the course is possible at the beginning of the month.


    The course will take place if the minimum number of participants is reached.

Crash course for beginners

    In just 6 hours (2 days of 3 hours each) you will get an overview of everything this dance has to offer.



    SUITABLE FOR:

    for dancers with little or no prior experience,

    as well as for Kizomba dancers who want to refresh their basic knowledge or gain even more confidence in their steps. Furthermore, the crash course is suitable for dancers who want to switch roles in the dance.


    YOU WILL LEARN:

    The basics of our beginner courses, which you need to move confidently at your first Kizomba parties. You'll also learn interesting facts about the dance, the music, and much more.



    For those interested in Kizomba who prefer to learn slowly, we recommend our ongoing courses.


    After the crash course, you can immediately join our ongoing courses.

    In just 6 hours (2 days of 3 hours each) you will gain more confidence, variety and flow to bring into your dance.


    SUITABLE FOR:

    This course is aimed at dancers.

    • who have already attended our beginner course / beginner crash course or
    • who can dance at least all the basic Kizomba figures smoothly, for example: Ladies' and Gentlemen's Saida, Estrella Virgula and Retrocesso, etc. or
    • who would like to structure, deepen and further develop their existing knowledge in a targeted manner.

Kizomba Special"Role reversal"

    This "special course" comprises 5 sessions of 90 minutes each.


    Learn the language of leading and following with DiaoDance!


    Stepping into the other role means mastering your own role even better and improving and expanding your dance skills. This changes your perspective and helps you understand what matters from the other point of view.


    Partner dancing is communication between two dancers. To have a true dialogue, you have to understand the other person's language. The language in dance is called "leading and following".


    "Leading" means showing the way through impulses and body language. "Following" means receiving impulses and correctly implementing them with one's own body. Both partners are constantly interacting and reacting to each other.


    SUITABLE FOR:

    Level 1:

    Participation is open to any follower who already understands the basics of being a follower.


    Level 2:

    Participation is open to any follower who already confidently dances the Kizomba basics in both roles as follower and leader.
